Welcome to the memorial page for

Ronnie L. Grimsley

June 7, 1941 ~ December 7, 2017 (age 76)

Ronnie L. Grimsley of Red Oak, Texas, passed away on December 07, 2017 in Waxahachie, Texas.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, December 09, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Driggers & Decker Family Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born on June 7, 1941 in Nocona, Texas to Ronald and Dorothy Grimsley. He worked for AISD as the Director of Maintenance from July 1974 to January 2003 and he worked as a reserved deputy for 25 years.  Ronnie loved the outdoors and being adventurous; climbing mountains, exploring caves and arrow head hunting are just few things he enjoyed doing. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and the “Duke” himself, John Wayne. He also enjoyed playing on the slot machines at the casino. Ronnie was a talker, he could talk to anybody about anything. Some say he could talk the hind legs off a jack rabbit running down the road, because of this, he never met a stranger. His larger than life presence will be missed.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, 11 months and 23 days, Karen Grimsley of Red Oak, TX; daughters, Tracy K. Grimsley Daniel of Andrews, Texas and Connie D. Grimsley Jeffries of Waxahachie; grandchildren, Austin Haigood, Braden Daniel, Erin R. Haigood, Haley M. Daniel, and Tori N. Jeffries; sister, Sandra S. Wilson; brother, Timothy D. Grimsley; 2 dogs, Buddy and Mackie; as well as many other family members and friends.
