On Monday, June 18th Nona Taut gained her set of wings as she went to be with our Heavenly Father joining heavens baking staff. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter and best friend to many. Her legacy will be continually celebrated by her husband Ovi, her daughter Victoria, her parents Tereza and Clement and her loving siblings Clem, Valy, Lori, Emi and Naomi. They are amongst the countless of you who will never forget her and the imprint she left on our lives.

Nona grew up the oldest sister of six siblings, she was often referred to as the rock and foundation of those around her. A natural leader, she will always be remembered as the life of the party. With a warm smile, a warm plate of prajitura and an open door she welcomed us all into her life and her home. Her legacy cannot be captured within words on a page or a picture on a stand, it will however be remembered in each and every heart and soul that Nona impacted through her journey.

Ovi and Nona first date was at Gustavs German Restaurant in Portland OR at the age of 16. They were high school sweet hearts who built a life together, traveled the world from island to island and sailed away into the sunset many times. She had several passions including baking and hosting family, fellowshipping with her small group and shopping for shoes. She had a passion for gardening and she had her dad’s green thumb being able to bring anything to life. They were blessed with Gods greatest gift in Victoria after trying for 15 years. Her daughter will remind us of Nona’s beauty and grace for a lifetime.

Her legacy will be remembered in many ways, but most importantly, she will always be known as one of The Lords greatest warriors. Her fight with Cancer was a testimony to her faith and will always remain as a reminder to us all what her foundation was built on; Jesus. The world prayed for Nona through her journey and her overwhelming strength showed all of those around her that no matter the storm, no matter how hot the fire, she stood steadfast with Jesus by her side unwavering and fearless.
