Marilyn was born on November 06, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York to Louis and Frances Maresca. Marilyn was full of life and love and she dedicated herself to her husband, Eugene and her 6 boys. She always made sure all her boys were well fed. They loved when mom cooked, because they knew they were getting delicious homemade traditional Italian food, which she learned from her Italian parents. Marilyn had a special place in her heart for children, she taught children from infants up to first grade. She used to joke that children older than that were “boring”. She never met a stranger and welcomed everybody with open arms. Her family would often call her a “push over” but they wouldn’t have it any other way. Marilyn was the matriarch of her family and hosted many holidays and family gatherings at her house. In her spare time, she liked to work in her garden and sew. She also loved to country and western dance with her husband. Her life was full of love and laughter, but now, her work on Earth is done. She will forever be loved and cherished in the hearts of everyone she knew.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and son, William Michelsen.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Eugene Shank, sons, John Michelsen III, Louis Michelsen, Robert Michelsen and his wife, Annjannet, David Michelsen and his wife, Angie, and Thomas Michelsen; wife of William, Monica Michelsen; grandchildren, Rebecca, John, Lyndsey, Grace, Austin, Chase, Colton, Chance, Hannah, Cole, Hali and Jonah; one great- grandchild, Avani Marie Michelsen; brothers, Michael Maresca, Joseph Maresca and David Maresca; sister, Lucille Carmical and her husband, Fred and many other relatives and friends.
