Janice Marie Mahon of Ovilla, Texas passed away on September 01, 2018 in Dallas, Texas.
There will be a casual gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Driggers and Decker Family Funeral Home.
Janice was born on March 24, 1952 in Rural Sni-A-Bar, Missouri to Billy and Mary Inman. She grew up on a farm in Missouri with her 6 siblings. During her school years, Janice was active in the 4-H Club and showed steers. She graduated from college in Joplin, Missouri. In addition to Missouri, Janice lived in Florida, England and Arizona before settling in Texas. She was a loving and devoted mother to her two children, Carrie and Christopher. Described as the matriarch of the family, Janice seemed to be able to do it all. Her hobbies ranged from riding on the back of a motorcycle to gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking and fishing with her family. Janice also restored old furniture and could build anything she set her mind to. Her independence and perseverance often showed when she worked on her projects. Janice enjoyed spending time sitting in her backyard with her family talking the day away.
Family was very important to her and she let everybody know just how much they meant to her. In addition to her family, she was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. She would often describe how much she loved traveling to Destin, Florida with her family. Every moment with Janice was a special one and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Nicky Inman and David Inman.
She is survived by her children, Carrie and Christopher; grandchildren, Christopher Jr. and Cameron; sisters, Rosie and Bev; brothers, Skip, Billy John, her significant other, Paul; countless nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Patient Advocate Foundation in Janice's name.
