Douglas Warren Harkins of Red Oak, Texas passed away on September 16, 2018.

Graveside service will be on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 11:00AM at Little Bethel Cemetery, 1803 Cedar Hill Rd, Duncanville, TX 75137 with Dr. Frank Alegria officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday night, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Driggers and Decker Family Funeral Home, 105 Vintage Drive Red Oak, Texas 75154.

Douglas was born on April 24, 1966 in Abilene, Texas to Gary and Becky Harkins. Family was very important to Douglas, he always made sure they were taken care of before he thought of himself. He enjoyed playing with his kids, grandkids and spending quality time with his wife of 20 years, Wendi. Douglas was an avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers play, even when they were losing. In his free time, Douglas loved being on the water fishing and appreciating the outdoors. Douglas will be remembered as a loving and devoted man and the sweetest “Daddy Doug” to his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Wendi Harkins; daughters, Mackenzie Harkins, Mikaela Harkins, Mandy Harkins and her husband, Blayne, Emily Holliday and her husband, Royce, and Terah Pliley and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Rosemary Pliley, Audrey Pliley, Easton Holliday and Nokona Pevey, parents, Gary and Becky Harkins, father and mother-in-law, Sid and Virginia Hendershott; brother, Glenn Harkins and his wife Heather; nephews, Christopher and Nicolas Harkins; Doug’s faithful canine companions, Haven and Vanilla, and many other family members and friends.
