Glynda, age 69 of Springfield, IL, previously of Cedar Hill, TX, passed away on Monday, September 5th, surrounded by her family. She was a two time cancer survivor. However, she also suffered from Parkinsons disease with dementia as well as non-alcoholic liver failure.
She was born on November 30, 1946 to James Reed and Lillie Frances (Baker) Nelson in Carthage, TX. She graduated from Mesquite High School in 1965. She retired from Firemans Fund Insurance Company in Dallas after more than 44 years of service where she made several life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her little brother, James Larry Nelson.

She is survived by son, Garry "Skip" Alan Kearnes and husband Michael Shawn Blanton; granddaughter, Amelia Alysse Kearnes;  great-grandson, Finnegan Zane Richards, all of Springfield, IL. She also shared a special bond with Amanda Campbell and her children, Addison, Kyler, and Mallory Whitehead, all of Midlothian, TX.

The immediate family shared a few private moments with Glynda, prior to her cremation.
A memorial service will be held at Driggers & Decker Family Funeral Home in Red Oak, Texas on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date.
