Dortha was born on December 23, 1925 in Tyronza, Arkansas. Dortha married her sweetheart, Charles Daubitz in 1947 and they had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 22nd. Dortha worked over 40 years as a registered nurse, she worked as the head nurse at an Alcohol Treatment Center and over 20 years for the same doctor in his private practice. She said she chose to work in a doctor’s office instead of a hospital so she could continue her career and work hours where she could be home with her 3 sons. Dortha found she could handle life with a career and be a wife and mother, which was very important to her. Dortha was an active member of the Red Oak Lions Club becoming the first female president. Dortha was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Red Oak. She worked with the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce where she helped welcome new comers. She also served as the vice president and secretary and helped with preparations for the Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner. She served on the Citizens of the Year Award Committee and had been active in planning the Red Oak Annual Founders Day. Together, Dortha and Charles hosted many foreign exchange students from around the world during their 40 years of living in this community that she was so proud of.

Dortha was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Ray Daubitz; her mother, Marlin “Gandy”; her father, James Verdo Stevens and her brother, Ray Stevens.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R Daubitz; two sons, Charles R. Daubitz Jr. and his wife, Judi Daubitz, Carl W. Daubitz and his wife, Terri Daubitz all of Midlothian, Texas; five grandsons, Charles R. Daubitz “Trey”, Carl W. Daubitz Jr. and his wife Alixandra, Chris R. Daubitz, Cody W.
